StartupNews, the Australian publication for startups, shared SkillSocials stories and our mission with its readers.
The West Australian newspaper featured SkillSocial, highlighting our friends, local legend and SkillSocial users, Idea Academy.
Our mission has always been to make online learning more social. That why we have just released our next major release, Learning Communities. These communities allows brands, programs or organisations to group members across different courses in one community. Members can engage with each other outside of the course context, meaning that even after the course ends they are can continue their lifelong learning through the community!

All Saints College’ new Studio School is as a first-of-kind model in Australia that offers alternative pathways to mainstream schooling structures and systems. Based in a new off-campus location in Fremantle, The Studio School model empowers students to combine their studies with real-world projects in order to achieve their WACE (secondary schooling accreditation). Studio School users SkillSocial to offer traditional learning subjects alongside new, individualised pathways for students opting into the program.

On this day, the first release of SkillSocial was deployed. This followed 18-months of internal prototyping and a 6-month process of definnig requirements and codesign with our friends at All Saints in preparation for their new Startup Studio School going live in 2022. This release is deemed 2.0 due to the proceeding prototype versions.
IDEA is an alternative option to mainstream education for young creatives, innovators and entrepreneurs.Targetted at senior secondary aged students and recent school leavers, Idea works with global networks to arrange portfolio-based pathways to university, training and employment driven by students' individual interests. Idea Academy uses SkillSocial to develop and deliver student content, encourage self-directed learning and enable peer feedback and collaboration.
